Crime Catcher is an interesting program that enables you to utilize your webcam in a totally different way than the conventional use in chatting. The program allows you to use your web camera as a security device: you can control your employees, watch your kids and domestic animals, or monitor your house while you are away. The uses of this program are unlimited, just unleash your imagination to find out more advanced uses.
The program features two options that enable you to access your camera remotely. One is the FTP option which allows you to upload recorded images to a remote password-protected FTP server on a specified interval. And the other is the E-mail option which can be used to send these images as e-mail attachments.
A very useful feature is the ability to stream your webcam plus the audio input from your microphone live on the Internet; and you can access that stream using any web browser. You can control the streaming rate, so that your stream suits both slow and fast connections.
The program has the ability to detect motion and launch a program of your choice upon detection. Furthermore, you can password-protect your program from unauthorized access. The program can start capturing images automatically according to a schedule specified in its 'Scheduler' options. |
